8 GREAT Restaurants in TriBeCa and Battery Park City

A new survey found that TriBeCa has more restaurants per resident than any other neighborhood in the entire country. In fact, my research shows that “TRIangle-BElow-CAnal” has over 130 FULL SERVICE RESTAURANTS (actually 136) and Battery Park City has over 25 great eateries and the numbers keep rising…and you thought these neighborhoods just offered great Easy Living®

“The restaurant industry helped revitalize TriBeCa and Battey Park City, bringing both new businesses and residents into the area, attracting more and more restaurants. TriBeCa is no longer only for destination dining – it also offers a myriad of incredible dining options to the local residents and businesses.” – Andrew Rigie, Director of Operations at the New York State Restaurant Association

1)  Brick NYC http://www.hluizpresents.com/BrickNYC  (Italian)
Brick NYC is the kind of place where you go with friends, colleagues, or go on a date – even maybe to find a date. The atmosphere lends itself to a fun night out. They even have a Pizza Making and Wine Tasting Class!!

2)  City Hall http://www.hluizpresents.com/CityHallNewYork (Chophouse)
City Hall has some of the BEST steaks in NYC. Try their CLASSICS menu especially the Surf Meets Turf. It’s a great place for lunch time fare too!

3)  Flor De Sol http://www.hluizpresents.com/FlorDeSol  (Spanish)
This has got to be the BEST place to get TAPAS and the variety may very well rival any Tapas Bar in all of Spain. Want to celebrate after work? Head on down to Flor De Sol.

4)  Le Pain Quotidien http://www.hluizpresents.com/LePainQuotidien (Cafe, Bakery)
If you want the very best bread/bakery, you need to come down to Le Pain (pronounced pon). Their tarts and croissants taste even better than mine jajajajaja and their tartines (open face sandwiches) are delish! My favorite is the Roasted Turkey & Avocado with whole grain mustard and tomato vinaigrette.

Battery Park City

5)  M1-5 http://www.hluizpresents.com/M1-5 (Cocktail Bar)
Celebrity Fireman Chef and cooking Champion John Sierp (as seen on Chopped, Martha Stewart, and Rachel Ray) has created a delicious and gourmet version of your typical bar foods. Great place to catch a game or book your private party.

6)  Mehtaphor http://www.hluizpresents.com/MehtaphorNYC (American, Indian)
Well, you know I LOOOOOOOVE Chef Jehangir Mehta’s Restaurant(s) especially Mehtaphor. Asian ingredients and exotic spices will tantalize your palette into all kinds of happy. Be sure to inquire about the Kid’s Programs and Vegetarian Menus.

7)  North End Grill http://www.hluizpresents.com/NorthEndGrill (American)
The North End Grill has great cuisine and moderate prices. The place is beautiful and you have to try the 6 Course Dinner Tasting Menu that includes generous portions of Razor Clams, Apples & Finger Lime, Abalone Sashimi with Asian Pear, Heart of Palm and Candied Ginger, Charcoal Grilled Nova Scotia Lobster with Tarragon Butter, Halibut with Cauliflower and Cider Jus, Grass-fed Beef with Confit Potatoes, Roasted Poblanos and Sauce Bearnaise and for dessert Butterscotch Pot de Crème with Single Maltmallows.

8)  Shake Shack http://www.hluizpresents.com/ShakeShack (American)
In 2004, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) won the bid to open a permanent kiosk in Madison Square Park and Shake Shack was born. This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. Now, they have many Shake Shacks in different U.S. States (International too) with 7 locations in NYC with one in Battery Park City – YES!!

Now, this was not a list of the very best restaurants in the Downtown districts. We all know that Nobu, Atrio, and the Palm are incredible places to dine, but rather, this is my 8 favorite restaurants in TriBeCa and Battery Park City.  Good food, great prices, excellent services, and wonderful experiences were all factors that brought these restaurants to the list.
